Jonas Paul Eyewear Careers

Jonas Paul Eyewear (JPE) is an award-winning e-commerce company aiming to provide function and new form to children’s vision with fun, fashion-forward eyewear options. JPE was founded by Ben and Laura Harrison in an effort to find stylish eyewear for their visually impaired son, Jonas. Unfortunately, finding such options did not exist within the children’s optical market. Since its founding in 2013, the brand has been featured on NBC Today & Nightly News, The Wall Street Journal, INC 5000, Huffington Post, Redbook, and many other publications. It has garnered numerous awards for its social responsibility and design. Jonas Paul Eyewear also provides sight to those in need through its Buy Sight, Give Sight program, which has impacted over 1,014,702 children and families world-wide.

Patient Growth Specialist

We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and articulate Patient Growth Specialist to join our team. This is an intermediate-level role, ideal for candidates with a background in inside sales who are motivated by connecting with customers and driving results. You'll connect with existing customers through personalized outreach — reactivating lapsed customers, gathering feedback, offering promotions, and reinforcing brand loyalty. You will work across our D2C and B2B audiences with clear strategic and tactical direction provided by our Director of Growth Operations.

ABOUT:

We’re experts in children’s optical — designing glasses that not only fit growing faces but also empower kids to see clearly and confidently every day. Since launching in 2013, our mission has been to help kids feel great in glasses and prevent avoidable vision loss around the world through our giving initiatives.

We offer stylish frames specifically designed for children and for teens and adults. We proudly serve both direct-to-consumer (D2C) families and independent business-to-business (B2B) optical retailers. Jonas Paul is a purpose-driven company based in Grand Rapids, MI, with a tight-knit and collaborative team.

We’re entering an exciting period of growth, with new product lines and offerings launching across both existing and emerging segments. As we expand our reach and deepen our impact, this creates significant opportunities for team members to grow with the company—especially those who thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Make outbound calls to existing B2B and D2C customers with messaging tailored by segment.
  • Support customer retention and re-engagement through personalized outreach.
  • Communicate promotional offers or new product information relevant to the customer segment.
  • Collect and record customer feedback to improve product and service offerings.
  • Use CRM and internal tools to track conversations, call outcomes, and follow-up tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Growth and CX teams to iterate on call scripts and outreach strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, referrals, or other forms of customer value generation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and strategy sessions to refine outreach tactics.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Charismatic, personable, and an empathetic communicator, especially skilled in supporting families — including moms navigating prescription eyewear decisions for their children.
  • Understands the patient journey and brings a compassionate, customer-first mindset to every interaction.
  • Eager to learn and grow, with a strong interest in gaining B2B experience with independent optical retailers.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a friendly, empathetic demeanor.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
  • Ability to think on your feet and tailor conversations to various customer types.
  • Experience with CRM systems and logging detailed customer interactions.
  • Prior experience in sales, customer service, or outreach roles strongly preferred. Candidates with inside sales experience, including those with backgrounds in medical sales or telehealth outreach, are especially encouraged to apply.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • This role requires engaging patients and customers through a multichannel outreach approach, including phone, email, and text-based communications. You will work across our D2C and B2B audiences.
  • This role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Rare but occasional travel may be necessary to meet with stakeholders, investors, or external partners.
  • Familiarity with financial compliance and regulations in the U.S. is essential.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new systems, processes, and responsibilities as the company evolves.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT :

  • This role is based in our Grand Rapids office with flexibility for occasional hybrid work.
  • Close collaboration with a passionate and driven team.
  • Fun, social work environment that includes office events, company-sponsored happy hours, and other team-building activities.

COMPENSATION :

  • Base salary: $50,000/yr plus commission
  • Performance-Based Incentives: Compensation includes a commission with meaningful upside tied to individual performance. Bonus opportunities are available for meeting or exceeding conversion goals across both direct-to-consumer and B2B channels. High performers regularly exceed base earnings through outcome-driven incentives, with top-tier performers earning significantly above base compensation.
  • Full benefits package including health insurance, PTO, and employee eyewear discounts
  • Career Growth Path: This role offers a clear path to a Patient Growth Lead position based on performance, ownership, and contribution to retention and sales KPIs. You'll work closely with leadership and play a key role in shaping how we grow and retain our customer base.
